Bruce Braley for U.S. Senate
Iowa Congressman Bruce Braley’s U.S. Senate Campaign needed a redesign of their website for the 2014 General Election. Working alongside the campaign’s Digital and Communication’s Teams in Des Moines I developed a design that matched the campaign’s updated brand and messaging.
The updated design brought a full-width website that filled the screen and used images and larger text to promote ideas. Buttons and icons simplified calls-to-action and encouraged volunteer signups and social media engagement. A donate bar fixed to the top of each page promoting small-dollar online fundraising and allowed the user to change the default amount of $10 and proceed directly to ActBlue to complete the process.
It was fully responsive and it displayed beautifully on a wide range of devices like tablets, mobile phones, desktops, and large screens.
I developed the website on top of the modern bootstrap framework and, as a WordPress theme, the design was easily implemented on top of the existing WordPress content the campaign had built up for several months.
In addition to web design and development, as a graphic designer on the campaign I designed social media and quote graphics that were shared with the campaigns 30,000+ Facebook Fans and 4,000+ Twitter followers.
